“You did it!” I congratulated my little brother. “Come on, let’s go!”
“Wait!” Mom cried. “You can’t leave me like this!”
I shoved Benjy through the front door and turned back to her. “We’ll be back, Mom. We just want you to get used to it.”
“Used to what?” Mom asked.
“Being our prisoner.”
Steven and Benjy aren’t bad kids. They’d just like their busy parents to spend a little more time with them. When pleading doesn’t work, they decide to take drastic action. Unfortunately, they couldn’t have picked a worse moment.
